  • On Fremont Street (Old Las Vegas).
  • Upgraded in 2019.
  • Largest video screen in the world.
  • The Viva Vision screen is 1,375 feet long and 90 feet wide.
  • It is suspended 90 feet above Fremont Street’s renowned pedestrian mall, lined by iconic casinos and hotels and “interesting” street performers.
  • It recently got a $32 million upgrade and now boasts 16.4 million pixels (4 times sharper & 7 times brighter) and 600,000-watt, concert-quality sound.
  • Shows start every hour on the hour from 6 PM to 1 AM.

3. Allegiant Stadium

  • South-end of the Strip (past Mandalay Bay).
  • Expected opening in Fall of 2020.
  • 65,000 seat stadium with a view of the Strip.
  • New home to the NFL’s Raiders.
  • Will also hold large concerts from musical superstars.

4. Virgin Resort & Casino

  • 4455 Paradise Road (Formerly Hard Rock Hotel & Casino).
  • Expected opening in Fall of 2020.
  • New “desert cool” design, but retaining most of the rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia.
  • New Todd English restaurant.
  • 60,000 sq. ft. casino floor.

5. Sahara Hotel

  • Re-opened as Sahara Hotel in 2019 (formerly SLS across from Circus Circus).
  • Trying to re-capture the feeling and nostalgia of old Las Vegas.
  • Sweeping poolside lounge.
  • Exceptional bars and lounges with live entertainment.
  • State-of-the-art live entertainment venue with shows like Magic Mike & Eddie Griffith.
  • 60,000 sq. ft. casino with dramatic chandeliers, rich colors, and an intimate vibe.

6. X Pot restaurant

  • At the Venetian.
  • Asian Hot pots served by robots.
  • Interactive light shows.

  • 3000 South Las Vegas Boulevard (next to Circus Circus on the Strip).

  • 110,000 sq. ft. casino floor.
  • 200,000 sq. ft. of food and beverage space with new restaurant concepts.
  • 220,000 sq. ft. pool complex with 7 pools (including an infinity pool overlooking the Strip).
  • This resort will have huge LED screens, including a 100,000-sq. ft. West Tower LED screen (one of the largest LED building displays in the U.S.), a 19,000-sq. ft. East Tower LED screen, a 10,000-square-foot Property Marquee, and a 50-foot diameter video globe to display over 6,000-square-feet of captivating LED content.

 

BONUS #1: Park MGM

  • Closest hotel to T-Mobile Arena.
  • Opened in 2018 after an expensive renovation (formerly the Monte Carlo).
  • Minus5 ice bar.
  • Park Theater has lots of live entertainment and musical artists.
  • Walls are lined with art.
  • Eataly Marketplace, a concept from New York with more than a dozen authentic Italian eateries, opened in 2019. It also has live cooking demonstrations.
  • Haus of Gaga museum of Lady Gaga costumes.

BONUS #2: LINQ Promenade

  • Open-air dining, retail and entertainment district across from Caesar’s Palace with 30 stores and restaurants.
  •  Opened in 2015 and many people still haven’t checked it out. New places still open there every year.
  •  Block party with DJ’s near the center fountains on Tuesday nights after 9 PM.
  •  Free Polaroid exhibit and museum.
  •  Free shortbread cookie samples at Honolulu Cookie Company.

  •  Fly LINQ Zipline (opened in late 2018 and 12-stories high).
  •  High Roller Observation Wheel – the world’s highest observation wheel at 550 feet tall. Takes 30 minutes to go around. Costs $25 per adult before 7 PM and $37 after 7 PM (save $5 if purchased online).

2021 Update

One new place that opened with little advance fanfare, but is getting a lot of buzz since opening is the Circa Resort and Casino on Fremont Street. It has a year-round, multi-level pool amphitheater with giant video screens called the Stadium Swim and it has the world’s largest three-story sportsbook.

Finally, to draw people to the north part of the Las Vegas Strip, The Strat recently erected a giant double arch over Las Vegas Boulevard that says “City of Las Vegas” which makes for a good photo op.
